Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an electric panel heater, which comprises a plurality of panels and positive resistance-temperature coefficient type constant-temperature flat heat- producing elements serving as heat source, each being embedded in respective panels, wherein arrangement is such that these panels can be folded on each other.
CONSTITUTION: An electric panel heater of this invention comprises a plurality of long and slender panel units 1, and each of these panel units 1 incorporates therein a positive resistance-temperature coefficent type constant-temperature flat heat-producing elemetn 2. The panel units 1 are connected with each other by means of hinges 3, so that they can be folded on each other. With such an arrangement, output of the electric panel heater can be controlled simply by folding up or extending the panel units 1, and amount of heat radiation can be varied in continuous manner. Therefore, it is not necessary to raise the temperature on the surface of these panels 1 in increasing the amount of heat radiation, so that fear of burn on the surface of panels 1 can be eliminated. Further, by use of positive resistance-temperature coefficient type constant-temperature flat heat-producing elements, temperature distribution over the surface of panels 1 can be made uniform.
