Abstract
PURPOSE: To view two sets of right and left horizontally laid down stereoscopic images as erecting images with simple devices by using two pieces of reflecting mirror jigs which provide a view by reflecting the opposite faces of light at four places and rotating the image planes 90°.
CONSTITUTION: A left side reflecting mirror part 1 and a right side reflecting mirror part 2 are connected and held by a flexible reflecting mirror part connecting part 3. The left side image 4 reflects on the left side 1st reflecting mirror 5 which reflects light nearly horizontally to the inner side, reflects on the left side 2nd reflecting mirror 6 which reflects this nearly perpendicularly upward, reflects on the left side 3rd reflecting mirror 7 which obviates the inversion of the right and left images that can be seen, reflects on the left side 4th reflecting mirror 8 which reflects the image to the left eye, and enters the left eye. The right side image 9 reflects on the right side 2nd reflecting mirror 11 which reflects light downward from the right side 1st reflecting mirror 10 in nearly the same manner, reflects on the right side 4th reflecting mirror through the 3rd reflecting mirror 12 and enters the right eye. Reflecting the images in this way enables the horizontally laid down images such as television images shown by the figure to be viewed as erecting stereoscopic images.
