Abstract
PURPOSE:To well weld the materials to be welded of relatively high resistance by using electrodes made of stainless steel to the ends of the upper and lower electrodes of metals of good conductivity. CONSTITUTION:Stainless steel made electrodes 3, 3' constituting stainless steel meshes 1, 1' are fixed to the respective ends of the electrodes 2, 2' composed of materials of good conductivity such as copper or copper alloy. After the stainless steel meshes 1, 1' are held to these stainless steel electrodes 3, 3', welding current of the extent of not causing melting and damaging of the stainless electrodes 3, 3' is flowed and welding is performed. The use of the materials of good conductivity as the electrodes 2, 2' and the use of the stainless steel electrodes 3, 3' of relatively large resistance only in the portions for holding the stainless steel meshes 1, 1' suppress the loss as the entire part of the electrodes as far as possible and cause heat to be evolved in the stainless steel electrode 3, 3' portions. Since this heat is applied to the stainless fine wire of the weld zone, good welding may be performed.
