Abstract
PURPOSE:To smoothly discharge chips wthout allowing them to be deposited on a cutting tool in the end milling, by separating the chips from the rake face by injecting pressurized fluid from the end mill. CONSTITUTION:An injection hole 2 is formed on the axis of an end mill 1 and a liquid injection port 3 communicated with the hole 2 is open to a chip recessing groove 7, for injecting pressurized fluid in parallel with a rake face 5 of chips 4 toward a cutting tool 9. The milling produces chips to which pressurized fluid is blown from the injection port 3 so that the chips are separated from the rake face 5 and discharged. The chips are not cut by the folling milling, being deposited on the rake face 5, without giving local damage to the recessing groove 7. This also has an effect of cooling the cutting tool.
