Abstract

CONSTITUTION: When an adjusting knob 28 is turned, a second piston rod 21 advances or retreats in the direction of axis line in a cylinder 1 through a nut 27. Accompanied by this shift, a pressure adjusting piston 20 shifts, and the high pressure gas 11 in the cylinder 1 between the pressure adjusting piston 20 and the piston 6 is compressed or expanded, and thus the internal pressure in the cylinder 1 can be adjusted freely. Accordingly, even if the outside temperature varies, the repulsive characteristic of a gas spring can be maintained always at an ideal value by turning the adjusting knob 28 from outside.
