Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture large-size denitrification catalyst which is formable into honeycomb structure by attaching powdered titania by a binder on a metal wire, e.g., aluminium, etc., having a high resistance to ammonia even at high temperatures.
CONSTITUTION: Powdered titania is attached by a binder, e.g., aluminum hydroxide, alumina sol, etc., to the both sides of a 10 to 100 mesh metal netting of aluminium or aluminium-covered metal, having no oxidative decomposition activity for ammonia at more than 500°C, and then the metal netting is dried and baked according to need to obtain a denitrification catalyst for high temperatures. The catlyst, which is easily formable into a honeycomb structure and a tough three- dimensional network structure, has excellent catalytic activity for the denitrification of waste gases.
