Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide cosmetics which are stringy viscous liquid or thixotropic gel, by using glycyrrhizic acid dipotassium salt as a gelatinizing agent and adding an organic acid, such as lactic acid or tartaric acid, to a solution of the gelatinizing agent. CONSTITUTION:A solution (>= 0.1wt.%) of a gelatizing agent comprising glycyrrhizic acid dipotassium salt of formula C42H60K2O16, is added with >=0.01wt. of an organic acid, such as lactic acid (C3H6O3), trataric acid (C4H6O6) or citric acid (C6H6O7H2O), stirred and allowed to stand. Cosmetics of colorless clear viscous liquid having stringiness, or gel which is quite different from known cosmetic gel and has remarkable thixotropy are obtained.
