Abstract
PURPOSE: To accelerate denitrification, increase the amount of soil treating water of foul water and effectively treat sewer sludge by using the aggregated soil comprising mixing sewer sludge and peat as percolation soil for foul water.
CONSTITUTION: Aggregated soil 1 is laid under the ground surface GL of the green tract of land where plants are grown, and foul water is supplied to said ground surface by sprinklers 2 or the like. The treating foul water passes through culvert discharge pipes 4 and discharge ports 4a and discharges to public water areas 5. The aggregated soil 1 which comprises mixing sewer sludge containing much organic matter and peat of high air permeability and water retentivity, and in which decomposition progresses owing to the action of the microbes and soil animal and fumuses are formed and are bound to aggregate form of, e.g, about 2W3mm in diameter, is used. This enables the denitrification and nitrification of the foul water to be accelerated by the action of the anaerobic denitrification germs living in the capillary gaps of the aggregated soil 1 and the aerobic nitrification germ living in non-capillary gaps.
