Abstract

PURPOSE: A medical sake having improved rapid acting effect on hemorrhoids, comprising an alcohol extract of young bamboo stems of the genus Phyllostachys as an active constituent.
CONSTITUTION: Annual young stems, particularly white parts other than outer green parts, of Phyllostachys bambusoides Sieb. et Zucc., Phyllostachys pubescens Mazel, etc. of the genus Phyllostachys, are brought into contact with an alcohol or sake at normal temperature to give sake containing a young bamboo extract used in a dose of 50W100ml/3W10 days before bedtime every night.
