Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a calcium agent havng improved absorbability, by calcining oystershells at high temperature in the absence of oxygen.

The calcined product is silver to light brown fine powder containing about 530 mg of Ca per 1 gram, and can be easily absorbed through the intestinal tract.
