Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve frequency-temperature characteristics by setting ratios of the widths of the thickness sliding flection vibrator to its thickness between 0.9-1.8, and 2.0-3.5 and the cut angle to -49 deg.. CONSTITUTION:The electroc axis, mechanical axis and light axis of a crystal are represented by X, Y and Z, and Yand Z are rotated on the X axis by angle theta (-49 deg.). In addition, x0, y0 and z0 denote the width, thickness and length of a crystal vibrator; and setting x0/y0 between 0.9-1.8 for the 2nd higher harmonic of flection vibration and x0/yo between 2.0-3.5 for the 4th higher harmonic improves frequency-temperature characteristics as compared with those of a conventional pure BT cut thickness sliding crystal vibrator.
