Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a special pencil capable of fine drawing on a blackboard, etc., and of erasing easily, by covering a core prepared by kneading barium sulfate and small amounts of a pigment, CMC, bentonite, talc, and water followed by molding and drying.
CONSTITUTION: First, a core is prepared by incorporating 10 parts by wt. of barium sulfate of approximately 300 mesh with 0.08W0.13 part by wt. of CMC, 0.8W1.8 parts by wt. of bentonite or talc, if required, an inorganic or organic pigment, and water, followed by kneading by e.g. a kneader with three-stage rolls to form into a core-shaped product which is then dried. The circumference of the resulting core is subsequently covered with wood, wood tape, etc. to form into a pencil. Otherwise, the core may be used by supporting it with a device as observed in a propelling pencil.
