Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a reinforced color picture tube having high demagnetizing effect by forming a reinforcing band with magnetic material and winding a band with demagnetizing coil as a core.
CONSTITUTION: Copper wires are bundled in annular shape to form a demagnetizing coil 10, which is engaged with the flat portion on a reinforcing band 11 of magnetic metal, and interposed between the back surface of a cabinet 6 and a lug 16 for mounting a color picture tube at four corners of the band 11. Onto the back surface of the cabinet 6 are secured picture tube mounting base 17, a spacer 18, and elastic member 19 such as rubber or the like by bolts 20 and nuts 21 with demagnetizing coil 10 contained in the gap via the spacer 18. Since the conventional demagnetizing coil can be thus rigidly mounted at a mask frame 4 and a magnetic shield 5 in sufficiently approached manner and the reinforcing band 11 acts as a yoke, it can efficiently demagnetize the picture tube.
