Abstract

PURPOSE: To make S/N of a video signal output constant without reference to the regenerative position of a disc by controlling the volume of noises to be erased, by detecting the regenerative position number code of a disc radius direction included in the regenerated video signal of the video disc.
CONSTITUTION: A regenerated signal picked up from video disc 12 is detected by FM detection circuit 19. From the output of circuit 19, number information detection circuit 28 samples a number information code signal which expresses a regenerative position on a disc radius direction included in each fixed period. The sampled signal is led to holding circuit 29, where it is held until update by a code signal in the next vertical period. The output of circuit 29 is converted into a direct-current voltage by D-A converter circuit 30 and the voltage indicates the level equivalent to the regenerative position in the radius direction of disc 12. Depending upon the level of this voltage, the volume of noises to be erased by noise eliminating circuit 26 is controlled, so that S/N of a luminance signal component will be made nearly constant without reference to a shift in regeneration position in the radius direction of disc 12.
