Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the positioning of the center of a photo detecting surface through simple operation by making it possible to adjust the position of a fixed member with the fixed photo detecting element of an optical information reader by springs and pressure applying methods in two orthogonal directions. CONSTITUTION:Photo detecting element 1 is fixed to fixed member 2 of rectangular cross section and the bottom part is surrounded by connecting with external frame 4 with hole 3 for photo detecting element 1. External frame 4 is provided with 1st and 2nd pressure applying methods 5a and 5b which have screw members 6a and 6b for applying fixed member 2 with two orthogonal depressions. On the other hand, energizing method 10 composed of a leaf spring of nearly ''U''-shaped cross section and set into the inner wall of external frame 4 at its bottom energizes fixed member 2 against depressions of pressure applying methods 5a and 5b. Screws 12 and 17 provided to cover 11 are fixed into screw holes 14 and 15 of external frame 4 to fix cover 11 to external frame 4. Fixing screw 18 is provided to cover 11 and after fixing member 2 is positioned by screw members 6a and 6b, fixing member 2 is fixed to the position via leaf spring 16.
