Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a distance between lines constant in a dot serial printer utilizing a step motor for line feedings by stepping the step motor several steps clockwisely then counterclockwisely or in a reversed order after each line feeding operation.
CONSTITUTION: In a dot serial printer, load conditions for a step motor 1 are different in clockwise and counterclockwise rotations, and a torque stabilizing point is also different, therefore, when the step motor 1 is given counterclockwise rotation more than once in a previous line for reading tyed letters, distances between lines can not be constant upon successive line feedings. For this reason, if the step motor 1 is stepped several steps in clockwise and counterclockwise or in a reversed order alternatively at the initiating time of the line feeding, the stable point for the motor 1 is set at a torque stabilizing point in counterclockwise rotation upon the previous counterclockwise rotation in the previous line, therefore, distances between lines may be kept in constant upon any line feedings.
