Abstract
PURPOSE: To measure the speeds and accelerations of irregular motion such as of motion of the blade tip of, e.g., a power shoevel, with good accuracy through photographic analysis by feeding the film at a constant speed and controlling intermittent exposure.
CONSTITUTION: A shield curtain M is driven at the velocity v to give intermittent exposure to a film 13 as a friction drive pulley 10 is driven from a micromotor 7. The film is moved at the speed vF by a micromotor 7'. All the behaviors of the subject moving body are taken in a reduced image plane B and since feed is applied to the film, the irregular movements of the point A do not overlap in the forward and backward ways and therefore the Q'16 of one frame image plane becomes the image of Q"16 and is readily identifiable. In the one frame image plane, allowable exposure nodes are 8, but when film feed is applied, the film for photographic analysis of exposure nodes as many as 400 may be obtained, hence analysis of high accuracy may be performed.
