Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a simple constitution to obtain a signal relating to the displacement position of a movable part not through a mechanical contact part, by coupling an excitation method with the movable part to a magnetostriction strain wire.
CONSTITUTION: This device consists of receiving methods 2 and 3 coupling with magnetostriction strain wire 1 made of a magnetostriction strain material, excitation method 4, method 5 of varying distance (l1) between methods 4 and 2 and distance (l2) between methods 4 and 3 corresponding to the mechanical displacement, FF1 and FF2 which obtain two kinds of time-width signals varying differentially each other in relation to the time until a signal generated in wire 1 by method 4 reaches methods 2 and 3, two standard power supplies ES differing in polarity, switches S1 and S2 which are connected to respective power supplied ES and driven by two kinds of time-width signals, integrator INT applied with standard power voltages via respective switches, and a circuit which samples and holds SH the output of INT to obtain a signal equivalent to the mechanical displacement.
