Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the shielding effect for the induced noise caused by the external magnetic field as well as the contour effect by giving a notch to the inner angle part of the core exposure window provided at the side of the tape sliding surface of the shield case and decreasing the angle formed with cross between the top of the core and the tape. CONSTITUTION:A notch like slope 4 is given to the inner angle part of core exposure window 3 which is provided to shield case 2 of the magnetic head. As a result, width x' of window 3 can be decreased along with angle a' between the core top and the tape. Thus the shielding effect can be increased to the induced noise due to the external magnetic field, at the same time enhancing the contour effect.
