Abstract

PURPOSE:To move the optical system for variable power in a simple constitution, by slidably engaging the guide elements on the guide members of the same curvature provided parallel with each other on the virtual plane parallel to the direction orthogonal to the scanning direction being vertical to the plane of the original, and crossing a lens over the guide elements. CONSTITUTION:Along the virtual plane being vertical to the original plane 1 and parallel to direction Y-Y, bar-shaped guide members 15, 16 equal in curvature are disposed so that the mutual spacing may be equal when measured with an arbitrary vertual segment parallel to direction Y-Y. Guide elements 17, 18 of tubular form are inserted slidably into guide members 15, 16, respectively, and a carriage 19 mounting a lens 2 is fixed on the guide elements 17, 18 by means of rotatable pin linkage so that the optical axis of the lens 2 may be parallel to direction Z-Z. When the guide elements 17 is moved to the upper left side in the drawing along the guide member 15, the lens carriage 18 moves parallel to the upper left side without changing the direction of optical axis of the lens 2. By selecting the curvature of the guide members 15, 16, the movement by the moving distance of the lens necessary for variable power formation may be obtained at the same time.
