Abstract
PURPOSE: To force abrupt direction change to the gas being passed and let solid- gas separation be effectively accomplished by bending a rectangular plate from the center, bisecting its inner side and parallel installing two closing plates on the outer side to form a unit baffle plate and parallel placing a plurality of these thereby forming crooked paths.
CONSTITUTION: The central part of a rectangular plate 1 made of stainless steel is bent nearly at 90° in parallel with its long edges and the inner side thereof is bisected longitudinally by a segment plate 2. Closing plates 3, 4 are protrusively provided in parallel with the segment plate 2 at 1/3 the width of the plate 1 on the outer side to make a unit baffle plate A. Next, a plurality of these plates are so parallel and longitudinally placed within a holding frame 5 of rectangular parallelopiped that the ends of the adjoining segment plates and the ends of the closing plates mutually overlap, whereby the crooked paths for air are formed. The bent edges of the plates 1 are inserted and held in the notched grooves of the inner edge parts of the holding plates 6 secured to the upper and lower inside edges of the holding frame 5. Since the air passing the crooked paths is changed of directions, the particles contained thereon stall or collide against the plates and are thereby efficiently separated.
