Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent O2 purity in a circulation system and O3 yield from lowering by replacing O2, formed by reaction of O3, with gas after cooling an adsorbent heat-regenerated with hot gas, followed by circulation.
CONSTITUTION: Part of feed O2 1 is converted into O3 in ozonizer 3, supplied to vapor-liquid contact system reaction vessel 4, and consumed. O2 formed is fed to purifier 7 provided with two adsorption towers in the recycle system. For example, when an adsorbent in adsorption tower 27B is regenerated, air is introduced from changeover valve 19, heated to 200W300°C in adsorbent heat regenerator 8, blown into tower 27B to regenerate the adsorbent, and exhausted 19. After the heat regeneration valve 19 is changed over to circulate the internal air, and regenerator 8 is stopped to cool the circulating air, thereby cooling the adsorbent. The air inside tower 27B is then exhausted by suction through filter 16, and O2 is injected from valve 18 and replaced with air in tower 27B. Thus, air does not enter the O2 recycle system to prevent O2 purity from lowering.
