Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent slug rising, enhance press working efficinecy and improve product accuracy by beforehand providing a fitting protrusion to the portion which becomes a slug and subsequently fitting the slugs thereto in slug slot in blanking of steel plates.
CONSTITUTION: A protrusion 8 is formed by a punch 3 to a thin plate steel plate 1. In the next blanking process, the raised part 9b of the slug 4b having been blanked is forced into the recess 10a of the slug 4a which has been blanked previously and is in close contact with a slug slot 5. The slugs 4a and 4b are integrated and as the punch 3 descends, they descend in the dlug slot 5. Even if the punch 3 rises, the slug 4b is held integrated with the slug 4a and is fitting closely to the slug slot 5 and therefore they will not float up.
