Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain the activity of an absorbing soln. in a desulfurizer for treating H2S-contg. gas and to recover effective components such as redox catalyst in the used soln. by drawing out a fixed quantity of inert salt formed and accumulated in the desulfurizer.
CONSTITUTION: Part of an absorbing soln. in H2S desulfurizer 1 using redox catalyst is drawn out, supplied to cooling crystallizer 2, and cooled to 3W8°C to crystallize Na2SO4.10H2O alone in the soln. This crystal-contg. soln. is filtration-separated into Na2SO4.10H2O cake 5 and filtrate 4 in crystal separtor 3, and filtrate 4 is fed to heater 7, heated indirectly, and concentrated by evaporating water in concn. crystallizer 8 to such a degree that Na2S2O3 is not concentrated. In crystallizer 8 most of org. redox catalyst and part of H2S absorbing alkali salt are crystallized. The crystal-contg. filtrate is fed to crystal separator 10 and filtration-separated into catalyst-contg. effective component cake 12 and conc. mother liquor. The liquor is fed to the third process. Cake 12 is adjusted to a suitable concn. in recovered effective salt disolving vessel 18 together with filtrate from the third process, and the resulting soln. is returned to desulfurizer 1.
