Abstract
PURPOSE: To make possible to transmit high shaft horsepower to a generator under or above a water level at low cost by connecting plural water wheel runners of relatively small diameters via universal joints, flowing them in flowing water and converting the energy of flowing water into rotating energy.
CONSTITUTION: Several water wheel runners 1, each of which consisting integrally of a relatively small diameter water wheel runner and a shaft 2, are connected via universal joints 3 and transmit power to a generator 5 on a base chip 4. In this case, a series of the connected water wheel runners 1 inclines as shown in the figure corresponding to the balance of their own weight and the flowing water resistance, generates rotating force by the flow and can transmit power smoothly as the chain of the wheels can bend freely at the universal joints. By so constructed water wheel runners 1, the energy of flow is converted into the energy of rotation at a relatively high revolution speed and the power is transmitted to the generator 5 under or above the water level.
