Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled board advantageously by a method wherein melamine, formaldehyde and methyl alcohol are reacted at specified molar ratios, the content melamine of the resin is made to be not less than a specified wt% based on the volatile component of the resin, and the thus obtained amino resin is used as an adhesive.
CONSTITUTION: Melamine, formaldehyde and methyl alcohol are mixed at molar ratios satisfying the following relationships: F/M=1.8W4.5 and A/F=0.5W8 (where F, M and A are the numbers of moles of formaldehyde, melamine and methyl alcohol, respectively), and reacted with each other. Then the melamine content of the resin is adjusted to be not less than 40wt% based on the volatile resin component as measured by a method according to JISK6839 (measurement of volatile content of adhesives) and the thus obtained amino resin is used as an adhesive, to obtain the titled particle board.
