Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize an outer race without degrading the strength by providing a projection or groove in one side edge to engage a stator in the outer race of an one-way clutch for a torque converter.
CONSTITUTION: The inner periphery 5b of a stator 5 of a torque converter is formed on one side with an annular projection 5c projecting inwards. A plurality of notches 5d are provided in the projection 5c circumferentially at equal intervals. On one side edge of an outer race 9 of an one-way clutch fitted in the inner periphery 5b of the stator 5 are provided a plurality of projections 9b cicumferentially at equal intervals, which are fitted in the notches 5d to fit the outer race 9 in the stator 5.
