Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the racing and slip running of a driving wheel, by installing a speed detector for a driven wheel coupled to no induction motor and by avoiding the driven wheel from being air-braked for vehicle braking.
CONSTITUTION: Induction motors 21W24 are coupled to driging wheels 31W34. A speed detector 45 is installed for a driven wheel 35 coupled to no induction motor. The detection signal of the detector is applied to a frequency pattern generator 6. The output frequency of an inverter is set at a value equal to the difference between rotational frequency fM and slip frequency fS. The driven wheel is not air-braked in the braking of a vehicle so that the driven wheel does not perform slip running in the vehicle braking. The detection signal fM always represents the speed of the vehicle. The induction motors are driven with frequency fD appropriate to the vehicle speed. This results in suppressing the slip running velocity of the driving wheels and providing a high adhesion coefficient.
