Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a resin product having excellent wear resistance, surface hardness, scuff resistance, weathering resistance, chemical resistance and heat resistance, by a method wherein a vinyl chloride resin product is coated with an epoxy resin contg. a cpd. releasing an active catalyst, and then the product is subjected to an energy ray irradiation.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a vinyl chloride resin product is coated with an epoxy resin compsn. contg. a cpd. releasing an active catalyst by which the polymn. of the epoxy resin compsn. is initiated when the compsn. is subjected to an energy ray irradiation. Then the epoxy resin compsn. is polymerized by the energy ray irradiation. Examples of the cpd. releasing the active catalyst are cpd. of the formula (wherein cation is onium salt; Z is N≡N, S, Se, Te, P, As, Sb, Bi, O, halogen; R1WR4 are org. gp.; aWd are 0W3, a+b+c+d is equal to the valence of Z; M is metal or semimetal which is a central atom of a halide complex; X is halogen; m is net charge of the halide complex ion; n is the number of halogen atoms present in the halide complex ion).
