Abstract

PURPOSE:To erase noise generated for idle channel passage, by detecting the synchronizing signal and by switching a sound circuit on a basis of the detection result. CONSTITUTION:The synchronizing signal separated from the video carrier wave signal by synchronizing separating circuit 10 is converted to a pulse signal by waveform shaping circuit 20 and is converted to a DC voltage by integrating circuit 21 and is sent to switching circuit 22. Then, the squelch signal from switching circuit 22 is cut off, and sound amplifying circuit 15 operates normally. When tuner circuit 2 selects an idle channel, the synchronizing signal is not included, and therefore, the squelch signal is transmitted from switching circuit 22 to turn off sound amplifying circuit 15.
