Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhabce sensitivity and resolution, by adding optically rotatory ascorbic acid or its alkali metal salt to a photoconductive layer of a dispersion system containing a sensitizing dye, an inorganic photoconductor, and a binder, into the substrate of this layer, or onto the substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A sensitizing dye, such as rose Bengal, an acrylic resin binder, and an inorganic photoconductor, such as ZnO are treated with a solvent in a ball mill or the like to prepare a coating fluid, and at that time ascorbic acid or its alkali metal salt is added to the fluid by 0.005W0.2wt.pts. per 100wt.pts. ZnO or the like. This coating fluid is coated on a conductive substrate to form a photosensitive layer, i.e., photoreceptor.
