Abstract

PURPOSE: A tablet having improved disintegrating property of a main drug, and comprising a waxy drug as a principal constituent, and specific amounts of swelling disintegrator and silicic acid anhydride.
CONSTITUTION: A tablet comprising (A) 100pts.wt. a waxy drug, e.g. a Cyclandelate or Ubiquinone compound, (B) 5W30pts.wt. preferably 5W15pts.wt. a swelling disintegrator and (C) 1.5W20pts.wt., preferably 1.5W10pts.wt., silicic acid anhydride. The tablet has improved disintegrating property of (A). CMC-Ca and methyl cellulose may be cited as (B). Finely divided silicic acid anhydride having a large surface area and adsorptivity may be preferred as (C). The anhydride (C) acts as a disintegrating assistant, reduces the amount of (B), and facilitates the formation of a small tablet even in a large dose of a drug.
