Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a flexible part smoothly by a method wherein plural projected wheels gearing with the cut-in grooves on a central shaft are provided on the periphery of the shaft and plural number of forming rolls provided with a notched part on the circumference thereof are rotated in a specified state, thereby the fitting and removal of a straw being facilitated.
CONSTITUTION: Plural number of forming rolls 3 provided with plural projected wheels 6 gearing with cut-in grooves 4 on the periphery thereof are rotated intermittently at an equal speed in the same directions around a central shaft 2 provided with many cut-in grooves 4 in the peripheral direction. In a part of the circumference of the forming roll 3 is provided a notched part 8, which is devised so that it stops in the position facing the central shaft 2 every one rotation of the forming roll 3. Thus, a space formed around the central shaft and allowing the insertion of a straw a facilitates the fitting and removal of the straw a, while the rotation of the forming roll enables equal forming action by pressure toward the outer periphery of the central shaft in the several directions, thereby smooth forming of a flexible part b without any damage to the straw a rotating in the same direction with that of the central shaft.
