Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent that rattling is caused with a shaft and a ring in which said shaft is inserted, by dividing the shaft into two halves at an intermediate portion between opposite hubs, and inserting the facing end portions of the half-split shaft sections into a cylindrical ring in the manner that the shaft can be moved only in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:The shaft 3 is divided into two halves at a middle portion between opposite hubs 2 and their facing end portions 6, 7 are inserted into cylindrical ring 8. End portion 6 on the drive side 5 is shrink fitted into the ring 8 whereas end portion 7 on work side 4 is fixed by use of keys 9. With such an arrangement, shaft 3 can be slided freely on work side 4 and torque of shaft 3 is transmitted by means of keys 9. Thus, expansion of shell 1 can be absorbed at shaft 3 and it is prevented that rattling is caused at the portion where shaft 3 and ring 8 are fitted in slidable manner.
