Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the subject head excellent in printing quality and printing characteristic by forming a film made of a water-insoluble substance having strong hydrophilic groups in a molecule on the surface of the leading end of ink within an injetion nozzle thereby to prevent the clogging of ink. CONSTITUTION:To a part corresponding to an injection nozzle 5 at the leading end of an ink jet recording head 1 there is pasted an insoluble film forming reservoir part 9 such as porous polyurethane, porous ceramic plate or the like having holes larger than the nozzle 5, and a water-insoluble substance having strong hydroxyl groups in a molecule (such as ethyle stearate, oleic acid or the like), represented by the formula, CnH2n+1X, where X is -COOH or -CH2NH2, n is an interger of 10 or more, is impregnated in the reservoir part 9 thereby to form a non-volatile monomolecular film on the surface of the leading end of the ink within the nozzle 5.
