Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize the miniaturization of the converter and then facilitate the IC formation of the millimeter wave or the like, by decreasing gradually both widths of the strip conductor and the dielectric substrate and then connecting the tip part of the substrate to the dielectric bar of the dielectric system line. CONSTITUTION:Dielectric substrate 2 is distributed on earthed conductor 3, and then microstrip conductor 1 is put onto substrate 2. Thus the microstrip line is formed. Furthermore, dielectric bar 7 is located on common conductor 3 of the microstrip line to form the image line. Taper extended part 2A of substrate 2 is formed so that the width of the substrate may be narrowed gradually into the extending direction of part 2A, and then the tip cross section of part 2A is made identical to the cross section of bar 7 to connect them together. At the same time, taper extended parts 1A and 3A of conductors 1 and 3 are formed into the taper form each so that the width of the conductor each may be narrowed gradually toward the extending direction. The extened part is cut at the tip part each is a finite length to be terminated. Thus a strip line-image line converter and the strip line- dielectric system line converter are formed.
