Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable preheating of secondary air and improve combustion efficiency by a method wherein a firing port or the like is fitted with inner and outer doors capable of being opened and closed individually, an air intake port capable of being opened and closed freely is provided at one portion of the outer door, and the inner door is provided with an intake port at a position deviated from the air intake port.
CONSTITUTION: An opening 2 such as a firing port and a dust charge port bored in the side wall or the like of a furnace body 1 has its peripheral edge covered with a port frame 3, and a receiving portion 9 projected a stepped portion 4 of the frame 3 is fitted with a metallic inner door 7 through a shaft 10, with the door 7 capable of being opened and closed freely. A narrow intake port 12 is formed between the lower edge portion 11 of the inner door 7 and the opening 2 by, for example, slightly reducing the vertical dimension of the door 7. On the outside of the inner door 7, a receiving portion 15 projected from the right edge of a flange portion 6 of the port frame 3 is fitted with an outer door 13 through a shaft 16, the door 13 capable of being opened and closed relative to an outside opening 5. The outer door 13 is provided with an air intake port 17 at a position deviated from the intake port 12, with the opening of the port 17 capable of being adjusted by an opening-closing plate 21 moved laterally with a knob 22.
