Abstract

PURPOSE: To control generation of red tide through preventing decrease of water- dissolved oxygen and increase of carbonic acid by forming an optical quality atmosphere substantially consisting of wavelength range at least 340nm or below.
CONSTITUTION: To control red tide, water area where red tide may occur is subjected to an optical quality atmosphere substantially consisting of wavelength at least 340nm or below. A 360nm or less wavelength is preferable, and a 380nm or less wavelength is further preferable. Substance giving such optical atmosphere is represented by an optical filter such as a blacklight lamp, etc. For a practical application to control the grow the of red tide plankton, a device employed is composed of an ellumination lamp A, a buoy B, a wave energy generator or battery C, ultraviolet source lamp D, and pilex glass filter E.
