Abstract

PURPOSE: To reverse a tape accurately and surely without the influence of external light, by taking out only signals related to the flashing frequency from light signals produced by flashing a projector with a fixed frequency.
CONSTITUTION: Projector 21 is connected to signal generator 3 and produces light flashed with fixed frequency (f), and this flashing frequency (f) is set to a value sufficiently higher than double of the commercial frequency, and the reflection light received by photodetector 22 becomes an electric signal proportional to the light quantity and is input to HPF41. The cutoff frequency of HPF41 is set to a value slightly smaller than flashing frequency (f), and HPF41 cuts off DC signal components of solar light and so on and frequency signals of double of the commercial frequency of indoor lamps and so on and permits only signals of frequency (f) to pass through. By causing this signal to pass through rectifier 42 and integrator 43, signal 24 is obtained which changes the level only on the basis of difference of reflectances between the tape surface of magnetic tape 1 and the reflection paper. Consequently, this signal 24 is used as a trigger pulse signal, so that the tape can be reversed accurately.
