Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible the fine scanning of less than the pitch between the electro-acoustic transducers with simple constitution by subsequently energizing the specified number within the plural electro-acoustic transducers to respectively relatively delay the energizing inputs and subsequently changing the relative delay time differences with time. CONSTITUTION:The switches S1... selected by a transducer selecting circuit E in synchronization with the clock from a clock pulse generator C are closed and the transducers T1-T5, T2-T6..., etc. in the transducers T1...TN are subsequently energized. The pulses synchronized with the clock pulses from the pulse generators P are applied to the transducers T1-T5, T2-T6... selected with relative delays by variable delay circuits D1-D5. As a result of this, the ultrasonic wave pulses A1, A2... of the specified deflection angles thetaM are subsequently generated equivalently from the transducers T3, T4.... When the delay time of the circuits D1... is changed in the same manner, the deflection angles thetaM changes to thetaM-1..., thus the ultrasonic wave scanning is accomplished at the intervals smaller than the pitch of the transducers T1... and the improvement in the resolution may be achieved with the simple constitution.
