Abstract

PURPOSE: To display clear and three-dimensional characters, designs or the like on a watch glass, by a method wherein an etching solution with high viscosity is adhered to a glass by a screen printing technique and said watch glass is subjected to the etching treatment by leaving said watch glass for a necessary time and then washing.
CONSTITUTION: An etching solution with high viscosity is prepared by mixing a powder such as carbon into ammonium fluoride, fluohydric acid or the like. Subsequently, this etching solution is adhered to a glass in a desired shape such as characters and designs by a screen printing technique and, after the etching treatment is carried out by leaving said printed glass for a necessary time, said glass is washed to obtain a watch glass showing characters, designs or the like based on a screen printed shape.
