Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to use information on the position of transition in magnetization state by freely rewriting the transition part of the magnetization state toward where a signal is not used as a control signal.
CONSTITUTION: When head change-over switch 12 is placed at side R and reproduction change-over switch 14 at side W, control signal 5 detected by magnetic head 11 is applied via amplifier 13 to 1st timer 15, output pulse (c) of which sets FF18, whose set output (f) changes change-over switch 12 over to side W and also flows a positive current to magnetic head 11 for N-directional magnetization. Next, at the point in time when the magnetization state of a control track is changed from N to S, FF18 is reset by output pulse (d) of timer 16 to flow a negative current to magnetic head 11, thereby performing S-directional magnetization. Further, right before the next control signal is detected, head change-over switch 12 is changed over to side R by output pulse (e) of timer 17, thereby cutting off a current flowing through magnetic head 11.
