Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the stabilized partial roasting even in the case of sulfur content reduction by a method wherein, in the partial roasting of sulfide ore by using a fluidized roasting furnace, a blow-in air amount into the furnace and an innert gas amoun mixed in the blow-in air is regulated corresponding to a sulfur content of sulfide ore.
CONSTITUTION: The sulfide ore is continuousy introduced into the fluidized roasting furnace 1 from an introducing port 6. The blow-in air amount and the nitrogen gas amount as the innert gas mixed in the said blow-in air are determined corresponding to a sulfur content of the said introduced sulfide ore and the said air and the nitrogen gas are supplied from an air sucking port 12 and a nitrogen gas sucking port 13 respectively to mix both gases and the mixed gas is blown into the furnace through a porous plate 17 of a bottom plate of the furnace 1 from a windbox 14. Therfore, the sulfide is maintained to the fluidity and the temp. required to the roasting and converted to the calcine with a predetermined sulfur content. This particulate calcine is exhausted from an underflow port 18 and separated from an exhaust gas in a cyclone 2 and a cottrell 3.
