Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the quantity of incident light and obtain the photometric device which is capabel of covering a wide range with less number of elements by disposing the high luminance side of composite elements to the outside of the rear end face of the pentagonal prism of a single-lens reflex camera and disposing only the low luminance side within the rear end face.
CONSTITUTION: Composite elements are provided to two hypotenuses respectively out of the rear ends of the pentagonal prism PP of a single-lens reflex camera and the high luminance side elements CdS2 of the respective composite elements are so disposed as to cross the hypotenuses. This turns out that the light of quantity smaller than that of the low luminance portions placed within the rear end face is applied to part of the high luminance side elements CdS2 placed in the outside of the rear end face of the pentagonal prism PP and that reaching a saturated state, i.e., maximum conduction state of the photoconductive elements becomes difficult by as much as the reduced component of the quantity of light. In this way, such a photometric device as the one capable of covering a wide light quantity range may be obtained with less number of elements.
