Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to find the cause of the actuation of an emergency brake by collecting related data from various portions ot the ATC equipment, and identifying and recording the data under the control of a CPU.
CONSTITUTION: The ground signal 2A transmitted from a ground installation 2 is received through a receiver 3 on a car, and a two-out-of-three type ATC signal 4D is obtained by an ATC receiving portion 4D. A logic correlator 6 compares the signal 4D and a speed signal 6A, and a normal-brake command signal 5A or an emergecy-brake command signal 5B is outputted. While the car is running, triple- system ATC signal 4AW4C and the ATC signal 4D are constantly applied to a digital input device 74 of an ATC failure detector 7. The signal from the digital input device 74 is read out and stored in a memory 73 via a bus 72 under the control of a CPU71. The signal is also stored and recorded in a digital output device 75, and displayed on a display 76. When the emergency-brake signal 5B is output, it is detected by the CPU71 as a trigger signal. If the CPU identifies the error signal, the defective portion can be detected.
