PURPOSE:To obtain a movable data device which does not require to be connected directly to a telephone circuit electrically, by detecting incoming to the telephone set acoustically or magnetically and by driving mechanically the hook switch of the telephone set to set the answer state. CONSTITUTION:Handset HS of telephone set TEL is put on sound coupling part P of data device main body DT, and hook switch HSW of TEL is pressed by HSW driving arm body S of automatic answer mechanism part H. Calling signal detector RP is caused to adhere to the TEL main body closely. When a calling signal comes to TEL, it is detected by RP, and by this detection information, calling signal detection part R operates solenoid driving relay D to close contact (d). Then, mechanism part H is operated to turn arm body S upward and forms a DC loop for telephone line L to set the automatic answer state. Next, coupling parts P and HS perform data communication through sound coupling. At the end of data communicaton, end information is transmitted to detection part R, and relay D is restored to set the data device to the on-hook state.
