Abstract

PURPOSE: To narrow the occupied band by selecting the sampling frequency which samples directly the carrier chrominance signal within the band of the carrier chrominance signal.
CONSTITUTION: The NTSC-system carrier chrominance signal is applied to input terminal 1 and then sampled through sampling gate circuit 2. For the sampling to be given to circuit 2, oscillation frequency fa of oscillator 3 is selected near fa = (2n + 1)/4m × fH and also within the band of the carrier chrominance signal. In this case, fH is the horizontal frequency, n is an optional integer, and m is an optional positive integer respectively. When this sampling pulse is applied to circuit 2, the carrier chrominance signal sampled is obtained through terminal 5. In otther words, the sampling frequency which samples directly the carrier chrominance signal is selected within the band of the carrier chrominance signal, thus narrowing the occupied band.
