Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to obtain greater dynamic range even at the input of large signal with a simple constitution, by combining two diode series connections and two diode and resistor circuits. CONSTITUTION:D18, 19 are connected in series to the diodes D7, 8 as automatic gain control, and the series circuits of D20 and resistor 21, and D23 and resistor 22 are respectively connected parallelly. The voltage-current characteristics are respectively the curves (a) and (b), to the combination of Ds7, 8 and D20 and resistor 21. As to two types of circuits, the characteristics are parallel circuit of both the curves, but when the input signal is small, they are approximated to the curve (a), and the output signal has good linearity and obtains sufficient gain. When the input signal is great, the curve (b) is dominant, and operation is made around the point B, and the linearity is good with the characteristics of the resistor 21 shown in the curve (c). Further, the curve (d) shows the characteristics of D20. Thus, even at the input of large signal, the dynamic range can be taken greater.
