Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a titled composition with high- and low-temp. resistance and light resistance obtained by a method wherein, to a composition formed by extending reclaimed butyl rubber with petroleum asphalt, a liquid rubber containing crosslinking functional group in both terminals thereof is added and, thereafter, the obtained composition is crosslinked by using polyisocyanate.
CONSTITUTION: To (A) 100pts.wt. of a composition with a uniform phase which is obtained by extending reclaimed butyl rubber with (a) Mooney viscosity ML1+4 (100°C) 10W90 with (b) petroleum asphalt, (B) 150pts.wt. liquid rubber having functional groups capable of forming crosslinkage at both terminals of the molecule is added and, thereafter, the obtained composition is crosslinked by using (C) polysocyanate to obtain a reclaimed butyl composition. As the crosslinking agent, toluylene diisocyanate or the like are used and, if necessary, a catalyst such as SnCl2 can be used.
