Abstract

PURPOSE: A solar heat hot water unit characterized by efficient heat exchange between the radiant heat of sunlight and cold water flowing in a water conduit and by easy production and installation.
CONSTITUTION: A glass material or synthetic resin in a molten state with a metal powder, paint, and the like mixed therein is cast in an open-top mold 10 to form a nearly rectangular base plate 12. A highly heat-absorptive paint such as iron oxide is applied on the base plate 12, and a metal sheet of which the surface is treated by application of silicon crystal powder is adhered on the plate 12. A light-transmitting cover member 20 made of a glass material or the like which is adhered on its one face with a metal sheet 16 surface treated in the same way as the sheet 14 and is formed with zigzag grooves 18 is laminated on the plate 12 so as to form a water conduit 22 therebetween, and water pipe connection members 24 and 26 are arranged at the outlet and inlet of the conduit 22, to form a solar heat hot water unit.
